Koncentracije lebdećih čestica PM10 i PM2,5 na području grada Splita su povećane za 100 % u odnosu na propisane dopuštene dnevne granične vrijednosti.

Povišene vrijednosti su posljedica nepovoljnih meteoroloških prilika i velike količine saharskog pijeska. Povišene koncentracije lebdećih čestica stvaraju lošu kvalitetu zraka i kod osjetljivih skupina (djeca, starije osobe i osobe s respiratornim bolestima) mogu stvoriti zdravstvene probleme.
